Seashell Decorative Piece

Cone 10, Cream glaze

The Dream by Picasso

Last semester in my basic class, we were told to sculpt a famous painting that everyone could (hopefully) recognize. I chose Picasso's The Dream. I finally got this thing glazed, Cone 10.

I also thought it would be nice to create a jewelry box within the pieces. My plan is to make a little wooden drawer to put in the back.

More in Sculpting

One of our recent projects was to create a slab vase and incorporate a realistic, daily objects (like buttons) and since we had been working a lot with the human figure, I decided to include a facial feature. The nose. I call this piece, Button Nose.

A Walk and Picture Taking...

I was working on some of my sculptures and decided to step outside for some fresh air and a break from the three hours of constant clay.

The sun setting with dust/smoke in the air due to near field fires.

A coil planter pot.

A ceramic vase out in the vines outside our ceramic building.

Portrait Sculpture Continued...

This is my most recent and favorite project in ceramic sculpting. It is very close to being finished, mainly craftsmanship at this point. I still haven't decided how I want to glaze and fire it but I am really excited.

I carved my tattoo into the back of the neck. C.A., the nickname that Gerry Grant himself gave me.

8x10 on Metallic Paper

This is an image I chose to print on metallic paper for a student art competition at my University. My professor convinced me to do the metallic and out of an Austin Photo Image store. I'm pretty pumped about it. I'm framing it in an 11x14" black frame on a white matte. Hopefully it will be a winner!

Monk's Coffee Shop

Yesterday evening, our University Chaplain played a show at the local downtown coffee shop, Monks. Tim was amazing and entertained a full venue that got up to about 88 degrees plus a couple of inches between everyone, if that. A group from McMurry (students, professors, and student affairs staff) were there fully supporting Tim. Good times were had and it was amazing how much cooler it seemed outside every time we stepped out for break.

TOMS, One Day Without Shoes

Today is TOMS, A Day Without Shoes so Others Don't Have to. McMurry University is participating in this day of recognition, to raise awareness for those who do not have a simple pair of shoes. As a result: a bunch of college students going around barefoot. For each pair of TOMS you purchase, they will give a pair to a child in need. ONE for ONE.
